Last night, Lake Bell and Laura Brown co-hosted a very special ‘Auction of Nothing’, in support of (RED) and the fight to end AIDS.
Melissa McCarthy, Sarah Silverman, Allison Janney, Reggie Watts, Kiernan Shipka, Lily Rabe, Michaela Watkins and Lindsay Sloane, and many others gathered at Grandmaster Recorders in Hollywood, offering up a variety of hilarious “nothings” to go under the gavel of the evening’s auctioneer, Lake.
Some of the “nothings” that were auctioned off included Melissa McCarthy’s signed and personalized airline boarding pass, a voicemail for a guest’s mother recorded by Laura Dern, Allison Janney buying the naming rights to a koala in Australia, and Sarah Silverman cleaned a guest’s ears live in the room.
Even more “nothings” on offer: a clay playdate with Lake Bell, a soup & sick care package from Lindsay Sloane, a joke $100 bill from Allison Janney, and a game of pickleball doubles with Lily Rabe and Hamish Linklater.
Thank you so much to Lake and Laura for helping save lives, and to The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for matching every dollar raised.
In total, the evening raised more than $50,000 for the Global Fund to fight AIDS.
