(RED) Pledges $75 Million To The Global Fund

Big things happened this UNGA week! Last Monday, (RED) announced a pledge of $75 million to the Global Fund over the coming three years, made possible thanks to continued private sector support for the fight against AIDS.
(RED)’s pledge is the largest private sector commitment for this eighth Global Fund Replenishment, building on the extraordinary impact made possible to date by our partners, including Apple, Bank of America, Beats by Dre, FIAT, Merck, Roche, Sanofi, Salesforce, Santander, and Vespa, among many others.
(RED) has generated over $800 million to support the Global Fund’s life-saving work. This money helps fund programs that build robust and resilient health systems and deliver critical prevention, testing, treatment, and support to the world’s most vulnerable communities. Since (RED)’s founding in 2006, (RED)-supported grants have helped more than 325 million people.
“(RED) has been an extraordinary partner in the fight against AIDS, mobilizing the private sector in bold and creative ways for nearly two decades. This remarkable new pledge not only reinforces (RED)’s leadership and commitment, but also demonstrates the critical role of private sector engagement in saving lives and building resilient health systems. We are deeply grateful to (RED) and its partners for their unwavering support in driving progress toward ending AIDS.” -Pete Sands, Executive Director, The Global Fund
